A life Woven with Tradition
I am Seyyed Davood Tabatabaei, born in 1977, and my life has been intricately tied to the world of Persian rugs. From a young age, I found myself immersed in the textures and colors of handwoven art, spending countless hours in my father’s shop. What began as a childhood curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong passion.
At 17, when unforeseen challenges arose for my father, I stepped forward as an independent rug merchant. It was then that I discovered my love for antique and authentic Persian handwoven pieces—works of art that tell the stories of the people who made and owned them.
Over the decades, I traveled across Iran, exploring its villages and cities in search of unique treasures. Along the way, I honed my eye for detail, becoming a trusted name in Tehran’s rug market. With every piece I encountered, I felt a deep respect for the artistry and heritage that define Persian handwoven rugs.
Now, with over 30 years of experience, my fascination with Persian carpets remains as vivid as ever. Every rug I find is a reminder of the extraordinary diversity in patterns, colors, and weaving techniques that make this art form so unique. At VINUR, my goal is to bring this heritage to life, sharing pieces that embody elegance, tradition, and timeless beauty.
